YEAR 3 - SUMMER 23
Year 3 Forest School - The Season of Summer '23
It was finally Year 3's turn to experience the excitement and adventures of our Forest School for the very first time ... and WOW! they certainly were full of excitement and had plenty of new and unexpected adventures out in the warm and sunny woods!
After learning to pull (and push) our trolleys full of kit to the site, the children got straight down to learning their first Forest School skills. Starting mini fires using strikers, whittling sticks with knives, creating mini-dens using DT skills to cut and join, use the bow (and folding) saws to shape cut and shape wood, hand drills to create amulets and plenty of clay work for some amazing tree faces!
Add to this the cooking of waffles (and, of course, s'mores), eating lunch out in the wilds, creating beautiful fairy homes, building bridges and playing lots of games ... I think everyone had a truly wonderful time! Well done everyone. Mr T is very proud of you all.
Next year it will be the season of spring ... let's hope they are ready for it being a lot chillier ... and muddier!
