AMPHIBIANS FOUND IN COPTHORNE JUNIOR SCHOOL'S POND

Through some very careful pond dipping, the children of Copthorne Junior have identified 2 types of newt: Smooth and Palmate. We have found male, female and juvenile animals ... and LOTS of them.

The children are desperate to find a Great Crested and have found several large and lively male Palmate newts that got us excited ... but none yet. The hunt goes on!

We are still on frog and toad hunt as we have 1000s of tadpoles, but cannot find the frogs or toads that laid all the eggs. When we do, we will let you all know!
