Year 4 - Season of Winter 20/21

Wonderful Winter Adventures for Year 4 in our Festive Forest School

Year 4 Forest School - The Season of Winter

Well, the leaves are certainly all off most of the trees now, leaving only the ivy, holly and pine to glow green in the watery winter sunshine! It is also a lot damper underfoot, with muddy puddles now here to stay until the spring.

With Year 4 all properly wrapped up for the cold and covered in a waterproof layers to keep out the damp, we are ready to learn all about the winter forest and discover new skills and experiences.

POST-LOCKDOWN - MARCH UPDATE

After an 8 week pause to the Copthorne Forest School programme for 2021 due to the national lockdown, we have finally been allowed to return to the woods with Year 4 in mid-March as everyone came back to school ... skipping the freezing cold snap of February and bouncing into the season of early spring!

We are thrilled to be back in the 'Great Outdoors' after being stuck inside with home learning ... and the photos show just how happy the children were to find the great pools of muddy water from the melted snow and springtime showers!

With the Year 4 Winter (and post-lockdown early spring) Forest School adventure coming to an end, it is time to ask the children what they thought about their time in the woods.

What new things did they learn or discover? How have they changed in themselves? What were the highlights? What new adventures are they looking to next time?
