YEAR 6 - FINAL FOREST SCHOOL ADVENTURES IN THE FOREST WINTER WONDERLAND!
The first year group to experience a full 4 years out in the woods ... and all 4 seasons! What amazing experiences and what fantastic memories to take with them onto their next big adventure beyond Copthorne Junior!
This year, in amongst the mud and ice, we upped the skills with some fine detailed whittling of mushrooms and butter knives, as well as improving our camouflage abilities with den building. The clay work went to the next level too, with some amazing sculptures on the trees, from animals to Minions to entire cities ... even a couple of clay Mr Turner images appeared!
Our final days in the woods allowed the Year 6 children to run their own day, repeating any 'best of' skills and experiences from the last few years. We had some brilliant team games, lots of mini fires, huge dens and some creative whittling, as well as full size bridges across the ditch (looking more like a dam!) and lots of brightly coloured face painting! We even had time for a full 'Taylor Swift Tribute Concert'. Great fun and a truly lovely way to end 4 years of visits to the local Copthorne woods and some hands-on learning outside the box!
