Absence and Illness

Absence and Illness

Please try to make sure your children do attend school unless they are ill. If your child has suffered from sickness or diarrhoea they should not return to school until 48 hours after the last bout.  Do not send any medication into school with your child.

If your child is absent from school, please telephone or e-mail us as early as possible on the day.  Either leave an answerphone message (clearly stating your child's name, class and reason for absence) or telephone after 8.15am and speak to one of the Office Team. In case of a child being taken ill at school, it is essential that we have emergency contact numbers, particularly your own mobile numbers.

We cannot authorise absences from school during term time except in exceptional circumstances.  Please complete a Request for Absence form which must be authorised and signed by the Headteacher before a child may be taken out of school.  This form can be downloaded below or collected from the school office.  Please be aware that in line with Government guidelines, fines could be issued if unauthorised absence amounts to 10 sessions (5 days) or more during the academic year.
