The Present Tense
The simple present tense indicates an action that is happening now.
For example:
The dog barks at the postman
I clean my room
I fold the washing.
He cleans the windows.
I always listen to music.
When action is happening now, verbs are often spelled with certain endings, like -ing. The present tense often also uses the verb 'to be'.
For example:
I am cleaning my teeth.
I am walking to school.
I am doing my homework.
