Maths Tasks - Money

"Money, money, money" is what we'll be learning about this week!

Money plays a very important part in our lives. While we are moving towards a "cashless" society it's still important that we understand how money works- so we are never short changed! In this topic it's important to remember what you learnt in Year 2- 100p = £1.

In each of the 5 lessons read the textbook first, then have a go at answering the questions for that lesson in the practice booklet.

The 'Discover' zone is to get your brains thinking about the topic- you do not need to answer these. The answers are then given in the 'Share' zone where you can see exactly how they worked it out. These two zones are designed to 'dip your toes' into the topic before you have a go at the 'Think Together' questions and the questions in the practice booklet.

LESSON 1: Pounds and pence

LESSON 2: Converting pounds and pence

LESSON 3: Adding money

LESSON 4: Subtracting amounts of money

LESSON 5: Problem solving money

OPTIONAL: There is also an end of unit check for you to have a go at.

CHALLENGE: Incase you whizz through the lessons quite quickly we have also put on some more challenging questions for you to have a go at if you want to.
