Computing - Internet Safety Poster
HOME LEARNING - SUMMER TERM WEEK 2 - INTERNET SAFETY
CREATE AN INTERNET SAFETY ADVICE POSTER FOR YEAR 3
In this age of endless gadgets, tablets and gizmos of wizardry, we need to make sure that when we surf the internet, we do it safely.
This week's computing task is to research the dos and don'ts of the internet and then create a simple, clear and easy to follow internet safety information poster (or booklet / PowerPoint / Word document if you prefer) that would be useful to other children in Junior (or Infant) school.
TASK 1 - RESEARCH - What is the S.M.A.R.T. way of using the internet? How do you keep safe online?
Let's have some fun learning about internet safety. CLICK ON THE LINKS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE FOR LINKS. Here are some things to try (you don't have to do them all):
- Play 'BAND RUNNER' on the 'Thinkuknow' website. As you play the game, you will be asked questions about using the internet and messaging.
- Play "INTERLAND" by Google (after watching the video). This takes you through various landscapes and games to help you understand internet safety
- Have a look at the example Internet Safety Posters and watch some of the YouTube videos in the folders below, have a chat with an adult about what you find out so you fully understand it, then maybe make some notes on anything you find really important. Maybe look for some other posters on the internet using Google.
TASK 2 - CREATE A 'SMART' POSTER (or PowerPoint / Word document / Leaflet)
Using some of the ideas you have found (plus looking at the examples), create a bright. clear and easy to follow (understand) poster that gives some 'SMART' advice about using the internet.
Once completed, take a photo of your creation and send it into your teacher. We shall put them into the Year 3 Internet safety Poster Photo Gallery for everyone to look at and think about.
