Geography - UK Mountains

HOME LEARNING - SUMMER TERM WEEK 7 - MOUNTAINS OF THE UK

Part 2 - Become a UK Mountain Expert

Last week, you looked at the 4 highest mountain peaks in the UK and discovered a few facts about them as you drew your amazing map of mountain ranges in the Uk and where they are.

This week, your task is to become an expert on just ONE of those 4 highest UK mountain peaks.

TASK - Create an Information Poster / PowerPoint / Leaflet (or something similar) on your Favourite UK Mountain

CLICK ON THE LINKS BELOW to jump back to the pictures and information about each of last week's 4 highest mountains in the United Kingdom.

Which one did you think was the most impressive or was the most interesting?

Choose ONE.

Now undertake some extra research and create a clear and easy to follow information page/poster on that mountain. The type and style of presentation is up to you, but make sure it has the 'wow factor' to keep the reader interested.

Things you could include:

  • Picture of the mountain
  • Map of where it is
  • Introduction to where it is and why you chose it
  • Height
  • Mountain range it is in
  • Interesting facts about the mountain (such as: first climbed / walking routes / animals / plants / weather (maybe extreme weather) / sports undertaken on it / number of people visiting etc...)

EXTRA FOR THOSE SUPER-KEEN ... by all means create an information poster for more than one (or all) of the UK mountains.
