The FUTURE Tense

Future Tense

The future tense is a verb tense used for a future activity or a future state of being.

For example:

  • will jump in the lake -  This is a future activity
  • will be happy - This is a future state of being

 

Simple future tense indicates an action that will happen in the future. A simple future tense is formed by using the helping verb will (or shall) with the base form of the verb.

  • The dog will bark at the mailman.
  • I shall clean my room.
  • I will fold the laundry.
  • I will work hard.
  • She will mop the floor.
