Computing - Espresso Coding - Loops & Repetition
HOME LEARNING - SUMMER TERM WEEK 7 - ESPRESSO CODING
To access Espresso Coding, CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW to jump to the Espresso Coding hyperlink inside the Year 3 "Computing Zone".
You will need to use the school's Espresso Coding login and password to access the website. We are not able to publish this openly (it's a secret!), but hopefully everyone knows it from the Home-School Contact Books as it was at the bottom of the diary each week. If you have any problems, please email Mr T or Miss Manley to get the information you need.
TASKS FOR WEEK 7 - LOOPS
In this unit, the idea is to understand how a computer uses 'LOOPS' as a repetition to enable it to do things over and over again.
The first set of tasks gets you to program a simple timer that will count up or down:
UNIT 4b - "Repetition and Loops" - Lesson 1: Why Use a Loop?
These are 5 short lessons to complete. Remember to watch and listen to the videos. You can skip a step if you feel confident.
Remember to save your work at the end - using a sensible file name with your initial or name in it so we can find it again later!
Unit 4b - "Repetition and Loops" - Lesson 2: Stopwatch
Bit more challenging. Ever wondered how a stopwatch works? Go through these 6 lessons step-by-step, ending with you making your own SMARTPHONE STOPWATCH APP. Remember to watch and listen to the videos. You can skip a step if you feel confident.
Remember to save you SMARTPHONE APP at the end to show us all when you get back to school.
Please Note: If you are unable to access Espresso Coding from home, do not worry, we can catch up on any missed tasks when school re-opens.
