The founder of Champion Chanzige visited us again on 14th February to deliver assemblies about what life is like for a school child in Tanzania, Africa. Philippa answered some of the children's questions from the whole-school homework that was set, such as:
"Do they learn as well as us without the same resources?"
"Do all children go to school?"
"How do they get to school and how far away is it?"
"What's a typical school day like for a Tanzanian child?"
"Do they learn the same subjects as us?"
"What faiths do they follow?"
After the assembly, all the children wrote letters to pupils from Msimbu Primary - Philippa hand delivered these letters when she flew out to Tanzania later that week to continue her charity work. Take a look at some photos of the Tanzania pupils reading our letters here!
Stay tuned for our next school fundraiser - money raised will be going towards building a playground for our partner school!
When Philippa, the founder of Chamption Chanzige, came to visit our school for the first time in May 2021, she showed us that schools in Tanzania do not have many things so they need help raising money for things that are important to them. She helped us learn how we can help make their school a better place.
